The Bentota Beach is a strip of sand between the Bentota River and the sea. The Bentota Beach is about 7-8 kilometers long and is known for its peace, calmness and cleanness. It is famous for its soft, silky sand and warm, tropical water.

Bentota is located 62km to the South of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Bentota is a longstanding and planned tourist development and thus is very organized and civilised. It’s long, wide and sandy beach is at its best between October and April.

Another essential element of Bentota is the stunning Bentota River. The 2-3 hour boat ride on the Bentota river comes highly recommended. On the cruise you can witness different kinds of animals such as birds, reptiles and even crocodile, iguana etc. in their natural habitats. The cruise is an animal’s lover dream as well. The River is very famous for its water sport activities like stand up paddling and boating.
